Vinton Antique and Flea Market September 10-11
There will be a Antique and Flea Market held in Vinton on September 10th and 11th, at the Benton County Fairgrounds (1801 2nd ve. Vinton). Dealers will feature vintage, repurposed, primitive, antiques, as well as flea market treasures.You'll find everything from A to Z. The flea market will run on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a. Annual Benefit Ride for V-S United Special Olympics Team August 21
The VSU Special Olympics will be holding a Benefit ride on Saturday, August 21. The ride will begin at Ron Da Voo Lounge & Deli in Vinton. Registration will begin for the ride at 10:00 a.m. Cost for the ride will be $15 per person or $25 per couple. *Kickstands up at 11:00 a.m.ALL PROCEEDS REMAIN WITH OUR LOCAL VSU TEAM!!!Don't have a motorcycle? No problem, VEHICLES welcome! Get those HOT RODS out and join us!! Rain or shine this ride goes on.
Vinton-Shellsburg Wrestling Fundraiser Saturday, August 7th, 5:00 p.m.
Vinton-Shellsburg Wrestling Fundraiser!This year for our fundraiser we are planning a slow pitch softball game, Wrestlers vs. Vinton Police Department! This is to help raise money to help benefit our wrestling program, and to help raise good awareness for the police department with all the negativity in their world lately!Tickets will cost $5 for students within the VS school district, $10 for non-students, and free admission for individual sponsors.
Quilts of Valor Presentation Scheduled for August 21
There will be a Quilts of Valor Presentation on Saturday, August 21 beginning at 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at the VFW Post 8884 & Auxilary, located at 5999 25th Ave. Trail, Vinton.The public is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

Garrison Emergency Services along with Tish Young from Chains Interrupted will be hosting an Informational Meeting on Human Trafficking.We have opened this up for all Benton County Emergency Services as well as residents of Benton County.Please join us to learn how to understand the indicators of human trafficking, how it's on the rise and the second largest criminal industry in the world.
CENTER POINT HISTORICAL SOCIETY’S LOG CABIN FESTIVAL PLANNED FOR AUGUST 22
The Center Point Historical Society's Log Cabin Festival is back and basic for 2021, celebrating the 1850s Strait Log Cabin and old-fashioned handwork and play. The free family event is 2 to 4, Sunday, August 22, at 700 E. Washington, on the Cedar Valley Nature Trail.Besides touring the log cabin, you can try your hand at rope making, corn shelling and washing on a washboard.

Please join us this Monday, July 26, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Library parking lot and Rest Area in Garrison for our second Garrison Market of the season. Our Lions Club will be grilling burgers, brats, and hotdogs for a free-will donation. There will be vendors selling baked goods, produce, and other items as well. They need your support!
